Welcome to Winslow Players
50th Anniversary Season
2017 - 2018
We are thrilled to announce the plays to mark 50 Golden Years beginning this autumn with:
Wyrd Sisters - 5, 6, 7 October 2017
Terry Pratchett takes Shakespeare's Macbeth and then turns it up 'till the knob comes off. It's all there - a wicked duke and duchess, the ghost of the murdered king, dim soldiers, strolling players, a land in peril; and who stands between the Kingdom and destruction? Three witches: Granny Weatherwax (intolerant, self-opinionated, powerful), Nanny Ogg (down-to-earth, vulgar) and Magrat Garlick (naïve, fond of occult jewellery and bunnies). Looking forward to this one!
Followed by …
‘A Pantomime’ - 1, 2, 3, February 2018
The New Year 2018 will bring our much loved family pantomime – title of which to be announced – but should be a good one, as ever.
Then to end this milestone of a season we look forward to a splendid production of Trolls by the late great Peter Skellern …
Trolls - 10, 11, 12 May 2018
Peter Skellen writes a comic tale of trolls, goblins and unlikely heroes promises musical entertainment for the whole family. Much funnier and more appealing than the multi-coloured-tufty-haired ‘dolls’ of the 1970s!
Our archives of the last 50 years will also be on display at every performance.
Our Spring Production - May 2017
The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery
It was a brilliant night! Well done to all involved!
You were all fantastic, well done!
A good evenings entertainment! Well done everyone!
Just some of our audience reactions to our superbly produced 'Farndale' which was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved. We are so lucky to have such talented members both on stage and behind the scenes - without whom it would all come crashing down. (oops, I think it did!)
We are so energised for our forthcoming season - it is going to be a terrific year! The plays that the committee have chosen are brilliant - hoping to involve as many of the Society as possible - and looking into the Players' archives of the last 50 years will be such a treat!
Looking forward to the next 50!
What a wonderful run we had with this season's pantomime. A massive Thank You to all who came to see us and thanks too to all cast and crew including our writer/director without whom we would not have had such an amazing adventure with ...
written and directed by Derry French
Thurs 2nd, Fri 3rd, Sat 4th February 2017
The start of our 2016-2017 season in October saw the return of a previous member to direct a little known play but with mysterious appeal about the untoward happenings at an East Anglian holiday retreat ... very well received with many of the audience left shocked at whodunit!
Murder at Quay Cottage
by Simon Amberley and by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd
Directed by Paul Ketteridge
We don't mean to be sexist
but this is a message to all male visitors to this site:
Ever thought about acting?
Able to spare a few evenings a week?

The Winslow Players are always looking for new members (especially the male kind) so if you think you or someone you know would be interested in joining us, please use the Contact Us page which will connect you with our Chair or the Director for more information.
'Don't You Know There's a War On?' (May 2016)
A play, with music, about Winslow in WW2 devised, written and directed by Chris Chapman, completed our 2015-2016 season.
We kept calm and carried on!
Beauty and the Beast
Many congratulations and thanks to Andrew and everyone who was involved in any way with Beauty and the Beast. Judging by the audience response it was another successful production.
